Spent most of yesterday working in the garden, pulling out shrubs and making a new area ready for gravel and sand with architectural planting. My back is a bit sore today as digging in flinty soil is hard going!!!

Finished chapter eight of the fic last night and got it posted which I was pleased about. Chapter nine is going to be a bit tricky and I hope I can do it justice as the characterisation has to be right....I'm a bit concerned about it if I'm honest, but I can only do my best, thats all....

Well I just planned out the last part of chapter seven. This one is a bit tricky and I have tried out a couple of different ideas. I think I'm finally happy with the way it will go and I hope to get it finished and posted tonight, all being well!!!

Well I hope to get Chapter seven finished today of 'Desperate Hours'. I'm really enjoying writing at the moment and I'm getting a real thrill from seeing the story take shape. One of my real failings is that I don't plan ahead very much when I write, so I sometimes have to stop and take stock of what I have already written before moving forwards again.Don't get me wrong, I know where I want to be in the beginning middle and end, its just that the bits in between I...'fly by the seat of my pants' on!!!! The only fic that I actually planned out completely was Protective Instincts, but that one was quite long and involved a whole community of people with several central characters and I needed to have a path to follow.

I'm in the process of planning out a fic for an original idea sci-fi competition that my husband drew my attention to a little while ago. The problem is that the maximum word count mustn't exceed 2000 words!!!! I'm really struggling to come up with an idea that will come across in that few words. I've already written 1200 words, but to get the characters to gell is proving...difficult, but I am determined to enter, so I'll just persevere
