1. Who sleeps in bed next to you? - No one. But truth be told I kinda like it that way.
2. What did you last eat? - Mmmm... chilli.
3. What kinds of books do you read? - All sorts really but mostly scifi &/or fantasy.
4. What are you reading right now? - Haven't had much time for reading lately but I've made a start on Iron Angel by Alan Campbell, the second book in his Deepgate Codex series and the follow up to the fabulous Scar Night.
5. If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be? - Curled up in my bed. Soooo tired.
6. Tell me something interesting that happened today. - If something interesting happened today it didn't happen anywhere near me. Though we are currently getting thunder and lightening with the snow which might be considered interesting by some people.
7. Name one odd item within three feet of you. - Is a bottle of ox gall liquid odd enough for ya?
8. What's your current fandom obsession/addiction? - I probably have two at the moment. Trek (a reigniting of an old love thanks to the movie) and Being Human which I demand you all watch and fall in love with right now.
9. What did you really want to do today that you didn't? - Tidy this room, finish my Christmas shopping, get my cards posted etc, etc ,etc
10. What are you most excited for? - Honestly I really don't have anything much to be excited about, my life is utterly directionless and I can't think of one thing I'm truly looking forward to. I would say Christmas but I suspect its going to be stressful this year, maybe Boxing Day because that's looking like it will be nice and quiet and (hopefully) relaxing.
11. What websites do you always visit when you go online? - BBC news, the mighty Trek BBS & Livejournal are my world.
12. What was the last thing you bought? - A toy fire engine. Its little Joe's (my youngest nephew) Xmas present.
13.What do you want right now, off the top of your head? - A happy Christmas, a peaceful new year and a donut.
14. What's your biggest procrastination method? - I don't need a method I just have a natural talent for it.
15. Are there any bits of childhood you miss? - I think just the general innocence of it all.
16. Spring, summer, fall, or winter?
Autumn, I often describe myself as a winter person and while that is in some ways true I tend to be fed up with winter my the end of January. I think my favourite period is from that first day you can smell winter in the air until the end of the year. It seems like a time full of such promise.
17. Say something about the person who tagged you.
Well two people tagged me I believe (sorry if I missed someone) so firstly what can I say about

This is my last week before vacations!!! OMG!!! Weeeeee!!! I have a ton of fics to read and I'll try to do it in the next two weeks. Also, I intend to do A LOT of writing.
Talking about writing, I'm starting to get a little bored of my story. It's a good story and a good plot, but I need SOMETHING to happen. I've reached the midway through and it's just talking and talking and talking... I need a bit of action, but I can't come up with anything. *sighs* The situation they're in right now is not very actiony and there are little options on how to add some. *bangs head against wall* It's getting frustrating...
Oh, oh, oh. I had a job interview today in the school I had already worked in before. I already have something for next year. I really liked the changes they made in the school since I left. I'm really looking forward. If everything turns out as I was promised, then I'll have plenty of motivation. (Let's just hope the money is also a motivation, instead of not --> my case now).

Don't be put off by the premise. I know there are way too many shows/movies featuring vamps and werewolves around at the moment but trust me this is not angsty teen drama or erotic thriller - it is smart, it is funny, it is touching and it is without a doubt my favourite new show of the last few years. So get in now before the US Syfy remake completely misses the point and taints your view forever. If you can watch all six eps and not fall madly in love with George, Mitchell and Annie then there is no hope for you.

Love the little details in this, really worth checking out the big version, some little clues for the season in there.

FIRST: If you've been tagged, you must write your answers in your own LJ and replace any question that you dislike with a new, original question.
SECOND: Tag eight sexy people. Don't refuse to do it like a pansy.
1. Who sleeps in bed next to you?
No one. My brother sleeps in the same bedroom though.
2. What did you last eat?
I think it was lunch yesterday. Chicken, rice, corn sauce and potatoes. And yes, right now it is 10:30 next day. Sometimes I wonder if there is something wrong with me. I forget to eat because I rarely feel hungry. Uh, thanks for reminding me. *runs off to eat something*

Right now I'm watching Star Wars ep II on TV in Portuguese. The DVD is right in front of me, but I'm too lazy to pick it up. It's weird, I never saw it dubbed.
I bought my mom's Christmas present today. A blender. She kinda demanded it from us. I need a new blender, see if you three buy it for me for Christmas. It' $$$ In XXX store and you can pay in *goes on talking about payment plans*. It's always easy buying her presents. She's always says what she wants and even researches the prices. Of course, there is no surprise there... Anyway, I bought it and we are going to divide among the three of us.
I think I'm coming up with something. I feel all sore, I have a headache and am too tired for this early hour.

Thanks so much to
winter_elf and
d_odyssey for the wonderful holiday V gifts of snowflake cookie and cup of coco! Now, if I only had those in real life.....mmmmmm.
Also, as you've probably noticed a couple of things if you stop my LJ on occassion. A) I never do memes, and B) my posting has dropped considerably.
The fact is, RL has cut into my writing time considerably over the past 6 months or so, which, honestly might not have been bad timing seeing as my muse decided to flutter off to parts unknown and only occassional rear her useful head. As to why I don't do memes? Not really sure. Probably a combination of laziness and being pretty sure that no one will care to have a response or even notice. But this one I've seen around lately dealt with fanfics and I thought maybe doing this meme would help lure the muse back by seeing what people found interesting, confusing, funny, etc, in my fics, so here it goes....
Pick a paragraph (or any passage 500-1000 words) from any fanfic I've written, and comment to this post with that selection. I will then give you a DVD commentary on that snippet: what I was thinking when I wrote it, why I wrote it in the first place, what's going on in the character's heads, why I chose certain words, what this moment means in the context of the rest of the fic, lots of awful puns, and anything else that you'd expect to find on a DVD commentary track.
My master fic list is at the top of the LJ and I just updated it the other day so it should contain everything I've written. I'll even attempt to answer questions related to the Geeks and Goons Guide series that pertain to Koschka's sections (or at least make up something that sounds good and possibly embarrassing for her. *G*) With RL, it may take a few days to get back to you with a response, but I promise I will.
So here are the first 150 - yep, that's right one hundred and fifty - animated icons. They are a little random and all very simple with the same kind of frame, a few have quotes but I mostly just let the gifs speak for themselves (I could easily have called this post "The Many Faces of Chris Pine"). I don't claim to be particularly good at this stuff but I think I should get points for effort. *lol* Hopefully some of you will find something to like here.
If anyone would like me to adapt any of these, add simple text for example, please do ask I'll help if I am able - though I confess crappy software limits what I can do. Similarly if you would like to make any changes to them yourself then I'm okay with that but please leave a comment and let me know that you're doing so.
If you snurch all I ask is that you leave a comment and give credit where credit is due. Thank you. :)

It's raining on and off since yesterday afternoon and my mom wants me to go to her place have lunch. I love her food and she promised it'll be worth it.
I was woken up at 6AM by my neighbor yelling like crazy. It took a few moments for my sleepy brain to realize what those yells meant. Seriously? At 6AM Sunday? Couldn't she at least try to be quiet when she's with her boyfriend? *sheesh*
My fic is making good progress. I wish I could spend the Sunday writing, but my mom... well, I just can't say no when she asks (sometimes is more like order, lol). 'You are coming over for lunch, right?'

It did however, rain and now the damp sidewalks are freezing, which makes dog walking difficult.
In other news, Mom's decided it's time to decorate the house. We don't even have a tree yet, so my sister and I are dragging our feet on this.
Also, soy milk, chai, and bourbon is really good. Like I ran out of soy milk good. I'm not sure if it's the alcohol, the sugar, or a combination of both, but I am really loopy right now.

Well, I speak Portuguese, my native language, and English, which I learned by myself watching Star Wars and Star Trek multiple times (who said watching TV all day is useless?). Now I'm dying to learn Italian because I have (or had) several Italian relatives, most importanly my grandparents and greatgrandparents and everyone above that. I'd also love to learn Japanese (my other side of the family), but I'm not so connected to that side. German is also in my list as is Spanish. I found a website that has a lot of vocabulary in several languages, all in pictures and audio and through that I was able to learn how to count till 1,000 (and beyond) in Italian. I wish I had more time and money to invest in language learning. But it seems that being a language teacher does not give me that.
